AI visibility
Also: AI visibility rate · AI citation rate
AI visibility is how often an AI assistant names a specific business when asked a relevant question, measured as a rate across many runs rather than as a position in a single answer.
Why it matters in senior living
For a senior-living community, the relevant questions are the ones families actually type: “best memory care near Austin”, “assisted living in Plano with a waitlist”, “my mom has dementia, where should we look in Charlotte?”. An AI assistant answers each of those with a short list of communities and a few cited sources. Visibility is the share of those answers in which your community appears.
It has to be a rate because AI answers are not stable. Ask ChatGPT the same question ten times and you get several different lists. A single answer tells you almost nothing; fifty answers tell you a great deal.
AI visibility is now the front door to a growing share of inquiries, because the family who is named a community by an AI tends to contact that community directly, without passing through a referral aggregator.
How Nuovee treats it
Nuovee reports AI visibility per engine (ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity, Gemini), per intent, per community, every scan, as a rate with a 95% Wilson confidence band. The free checker reports the same number for any community in about a minute.
Questions
- What is a good AI visibility rate for a senior-living community?
- Across the operators we have measured, the distribution is winner-take-most: a few communities are named in 80–100% of answers in their market and nearly a quarter are never named. Anything above 50% on an engine means you are a regular answer; the first goal for a 0–20% community is simply to appear.
