Referral aggregator
Also: senior living referral agency · placement agency · lead aggregator
A referral aggregator is a company that captures families searching for senior living, matches them to communities, and charges the community a fee when a referred family moves in.
Why it matters in senior living
A Place for Mom and Caring.com are the best-known examples. The model works because the aggregator owns the pages families find first, so it owns the inquiry and sells it back to the operator as a move-in fee.
AI search changes the balance. When an AI assistant names a community directly, the family contacts the community directly and no fee is owed. When it names the aggregator, the old economics apply. That is why AI visibility is a financial metric, not a vanity one.
